Getting Old Sucks! But your parents getting even older sucks more!

You can't stop the clock…

And if we're lucky enough to be still alive and kickin' at 60 and plus, it's likely we've got some parents to worry about who are kickin' through their 80s and 90s.

Alex and I have been going through it. I bet you have too––I'm sure we're not alone! Trying to take care of aging parents is a challenge. And several factors make it even more challenging…

  • Distance

  • Resistance to change

  • Health (Ours and theirs!)

  • Family dynamics

  • Finance

And right now, the added stresses of COVID! Some people can't visit parents even if you want to. After one trip to help Alex's Mom in New York, I had to wait 14 days before I could see the dentist.

It sucks!

All of these things and more play into how we deal with making sure Mom and Dad are safe, as healthy as possible and happy in their elder years.

And there are the big looming questions that nobody likes to face…

  • How can you tell when your parents they need help?

  • Do they realize they need help?

  • Is it time for home care or assisted living?

  • Will they outlive their money?

And the grandmother of all questions…

When and how do you have "The Conversation?"

Even in the best of circumstances, making sure elderly parents are safe and happy can be a lot of work. And it can put a strain on your own health, sanity, work and relationships.

Fortunately, we have access to a lot of great resources. Alex and I are launching a new Big 60 Life program to help us all take care of Mom & Dad––without losing our minds along the way!

"My Parents Are Old––What the Hell do I do NOW?" is a hub that will bring together a number of terrific resources including…

  • Videos

  • Books

  • Online group sessions

  • Live online workshops

  • Product and service reviews

We're going to kick it all off with our first "Family Room" live online workshop…

In this first session, we're going to be talking about how to recognize those first signs that Mom or Dad need a little help. (Or a lot!)

We'll share experiences, ideas and resources that help us recognize those early warning signs and prepare ourselves and our parents for what lies ahead.

No matter how far in the future you might think it is before you're dealing with these issues, it's never too early to know the signs and make some plans!

Stay in the loop!

You don't want to miss any of this!
